As part of a shared ambition to shape the future of construction, Ducker Carlisle and Saint-Gobain Weber joined forces in 2025 to explore the potential of 3D concrete printing (3DCP) in the Benelux region.
This collaboration marks a first-of-its-kind strategic study between the two organizations on this emerging topic, combining Weber’s innovation in construction materials with Ducker Carlisle’s market intelligence expertise.
Over several months, the joint team conducted a series of structured interviews and workshops with a wide spectrum of industry stakeholders—from architects and engineers to general contractors and technology providers—aiming to better understand where 3DCP can bring real value, and what barriers still need to be addressed for broader adoption.
Rather than focusing solely on the technology itself, the study took a business-first approach:
- Where can 3DCP offer concrete benefits in real-world applications?
- What business models are most suited to scale the technology?
- What strategic decisions must be taken to unlock profitability?
While the technology is still maturing, the project helped identify early application areas with potential, as well as key conditions to support future scalability — from refining the value proposition to building alignment across the ecosystem.
This project also reflects Saint-Gobain Weber’s commitment to innovation and its openness to co-create with external partners. For Ducker Carlisle, it confirms once again that applied market intelligence, when deeply connected to industrial realities, can become a catalyst for growth and transformation.
We are proud of this collaboration and grateful for the trust placed in us. The insights generated will not only guide future decisions around 3DCP, but also strengthen how innovation is approached within one of Europe’s most respected building materials brands.
